July Trip Broke CVs
Long Post Pics are down lower if you wish to bypass the reading.
I went on this trip with another friend back in late July, but have never gotten the pics up because i have been lazy.
My friend (TFJ 4Runner) and I went out to some local powerline trails and were just messing around and chilling on the trails when i came up to an area i havent been before. I made a newb mistake and did not get out and check the obstacle first, which was a no no.
I eased down into it and then i just slid to the bottom and the bumper ended up resting on ground. There wasnt any breakage...yet.
My front Yoko Geolanders got destroyed due to a misalignment and everytime i went to get it aligned the shop told me to fix this first or that, so they ended up being ruined. I was running some off-brand junk ATs.
As i was getting pulled back i had the truck in 4L and Reverse with only a little throttle to help my buddy pull me. When i was getting pulled back, with my tires turned all the way to the right and a little bit of juice, the tires grabbed the bank and snap goes the axles!
i heard them pop and it was loud, but i did not know thats what it was at the time. Well i get out and get turned around and proceed to try and leave and end up getting stuck in some baby mud pit b/c of the junk ATs and no front axles!
Onto the pics!
Stuck
The Savior
Right after axles broke and waiting to get pulled again
Inclinometer
Freedom (short lived however)
When i was going down at first i was at the top on the very right side and slid down that bank. Slightly underneath that is where i was getting pulled out and broke the axles.
Different angles...
This was the result on the drivers side

WOW! Sorry to hear you busted something but at least you still got home. That little hole you fell in doesn't look that bad in the pictures but from the way your runner is ass up it must have been steeper than it looks.
Do you have a locker front or rear? I ask because I like to drop into stuff like that (after a walk around) and am hoping my locker will keep me from breaking stuff or getting stuck.
Looks like a hell of a lot of fun!

shortly after the trip i left out for college when gas prices got to >$4.00/gal and i did not get to drive her much longer. The front axles are still broke and it is sitting in my driveway uninsured and not registered
Ya i have lockers front and rear. If i had my MTs, I might have been able to get out, but the front bumper was resting on the ground so idk if i could have been able to get out...
O trust me, the inclinometer was right at or past 30*. The wheel was stuck and i could not turn the tires or gain any traction to move out of the spot.
Ill put a pic up of my inclinometer of how bad it was leaning when i was on the right side pretty badly.
EDIT: pic is up
