IFS 4wheeling(pics from today with 90s 2dr)

just a few pics from 4wheeling today. My truck is the grey one. Both runners were stock for the mostpart but i thought id share...not everyday you get to wheel with a 2dr 90's bodystyle...That thing was pretty much unstopable!

Had to get crazy in the only mud we found

i was amazed i didnt get stuck or brake anything...what a blast!

Me spotting my friend i let take it through the drop cause it was in a huge playground area and i wanted to see it all go down.
Still no stuck

Enjoy the pics guys.

It was Bunce School Road and we did Ironclads we were also tryin to get to the plain crash site but a snowey up hill climb got the black 4runner stuck 4 times and after that he was so upset and tired of us trying to get him out over and over and over he wanted to head back down.

If you want your welcome to go with us cause we have been going about twice a week.Give me a call if you want to go(I will PM you my #)

I too would love to join you. Bunce School road is great, as is Middle St. Vrain, just up the road from there.

Look like good pics. Glad you had fun. Post up, i'd love to join you at some point.

BJ spacers on a bracket lift is a bad idea. From the looks of it, you get ok up travel. The only thing would be to put low profile upper arm stops to gain a bit of downward travel.

Also how are you getting that much flex in the rear! And what length shocks are you using?

looks like fun. I was too lazy to take pictures this weekend, but also had some fun playing slip n slide up and down muddy clay hills and launching in and out of mud pits. I was shocked when I saw a few stock 90s ifs 2dr toyotas barrel through where I was with almost no problem at all. I followed them for a ways and decided those guys were completely out of their minds and turned around after I watched them descend the steepest, muddiest 50+ foot wall/cliff/hill ever. I'll bet they had a hell of a time getting back up it. I'm also willing to bet one of them rolled or slid into a tree at least once that day. next time i'm out that way i'll take some pictures, or hopefully even some videos of crazy guys in stock toyotas challenging hills no sane person would go up or down on foot.

Too bad I always remember to take pictures after I get back on the street lol

Honestly i dont think the rear drops out enough.Id like to see more travel. This truck was my first lift and first real 4x4 toy. The reason i say i want more is because the truck is soo light in the rear it seems like i have to really get the weight over the rear and focused on that corner to get it compressed. I have a 3inch extruded block in there and stock springs. The block scares me cause i get some wrap over loose rock. After watching it it was not near as much as my friend made it out to be but still i dont want wrap. I used a cheap shackle kit i found at a parts store. I had them on my old 4runner to kill the sag and with a 3inch lift i wanted to get the back higher then the front so i could sit level with the topper on in the winter and some more room for tire stuff. The rear wheel arch hangs down a lot more im finding and rubbing is easy running 36/14.5/15's is a close fit as is. Im playing with a few ideas for the rear to get more down travel and limit the uptravel so i can keep the 36's on. When i get a chance to try it i will be posting pics of it. For now heres some flexed out pics. This is all she wrote...longer shocks are going to be a must because theres maybe another inch left. When we picked the shocks they were the same size as the procomps that came in my 4inch 4runner lift. We went to the store played with rancho shocks and found ones we could make work using the stock locations.I can get the part# if you want it.

We are always looking for more people to go with us. we do a lot of night wheeling there on the weekends. I will PM you my number too just give me a call if your thinking about going up. We tried for middle st vrain 2 weeks ago but its closed for the season. We were up on friday night and met up with 3 guys in crazy rigs that took us up Ironclads I had to turn around cause my clutch was pretty hot(stupid freeplay adjustment i couldnt find before.) Now my clutch is fine and im exited to go back. We were on our way to the plain crash site but the black one got stuck like 4times and wanted to turn around. This weekend were going up to finish that trail and play in the playground some more.

We dont get too crazy when we go because most of the guys i know have stock or near stock rigs. Im just getting in to this a bit more hardcore so im learning as i go and getting over my in seat fears.Wheeling my truck is night and day from stock and its taking some work to get the feeling of control back.

Yeah if you can get me the # for the shocks. I'm working on getting things in order for my chevy springs and I want to keep the stock shock locations but use the longest possible shocks.

VW, are those the stock leafs with like a 4-5" shackle, or...? Cause I was debating on whether to get either a 4" leaf pack from superlift (or somewhere), or go with a longer shackle. How're they holdin up for you?

Yeah I'm using 2" blocks right now, and you're right, they just aint cut it. Was thinkin bout goin with Superlift's 4" leaf pack ($124.99 a piece), but was planning on doing the longer shackle first. Cause that way, get a little bit more use outta my stock leafs, and when I get the new leafs, it'll be even bigger.

Gonna be sittin with its ass up in the air, but I haven't figured out what imma do bout the front yet...

(Sorry bout thread hi-jacking lol)
