Greenhorn Mtn snowbashing 2/19/11
Great day of snowbashing yesterday! We had 3 rigs on the way up and 3 rigs and a four-wheeler on the way down. It was Brandon in his YJ on 37's, myself, and Brandon's friend Adrian in an 89 YJ on 33's and unlocked.
Trailhead is a little more than an hour from Pueblo off of Hwy 69. We were unloaded and heading up the mtn. by 8:30. Snow was good, nice and wet, packable, but kinda slick. Onto the pics
Brandon breaking trail. We switched off breaking trail all day.
Ended up making to Brandon's dad's cabin (10200 ft. in elev).
Great views from the front porch of the cabin!
Pond on the side
Snow was wind blown and drifted into deep spots all over the mountain.
Hard to move forward pushing this much heavy snow. I was able to back out though so I wasn't really stuck. The views were killer all day!
Clouds and some weather rolling in from the west and southwest.
The snow had melted on the lower half of the trail throughout the day so it was nothing but mud. Not really my thing but we had to drive through it to get back to the trailhead.
The wide tires that stick way out are great for rocks and floatation on the snow but SUCK for mud
I've got some video that I'll try to get put together and posted.

cool pics...and I can relate to the need for flares and flaps..though they suck, it helps keep it so you can see.
edit: I'll send you a free sawzall blade to help that jeep get rid of the gawdawful brush guard...dang
