I bet your spindle is super dry.
I had that happen a few times after playing in mud. You're gonna wanna pull the whole hub apart and repack the wheel bearings, too.. cuz I bet they're loaded with mud.

yeah and when I last did the brakes, I never thought of or heard of for that matter regreasing the spindle bushings
