I've created a custom NDR for employees who have left the company following http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../bb123506.aspx it works great internally and when email is sent externally from a Gmail account. however, when I send an email to a disabled user from another exchange server it strips out the custom text for the generic one. the 5.7.100 custom Dsn code is showing in both NDRs, but only the internal and Gmail users get to see the custom text. I've done the custom NDR process on 2 different exchange 2010 servers with the same results.


If I send the email from inside the org or externally using Gmail this is the NDR I get:

any thoughts as to what I am doing wrong? why does it work for gmail but not other exchange servers?
