i mounted mine up high too, out of the mud and water.
if you pull the viser clip out you can screw it right to the roof there. i don't have any sunvisors cause of my internal cage though.
the question is where to mount the whip. mine is on the bumper out back

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the 84-88 pickups don't have a deep enough ashtray to accomodate a CB. If you guys have pics showing otherwise, please post them up. I really like the ashtray mount, so would be excited to see if I could easily make it work

I was thinking of doing something like this with mine but was not real sure how to mount it with out destroying the headliner. I suppose I could make some sort of bracket to go from the visor holes...

thanks for all the input guys. i desided to mount it on the back of the center consul.... i would put it in the ash tray but i would have to do some trimming to slip it in there and i dont think it would even be deep enough. ill take a pic of it when i finish it. hopefully tomarrow....

^ My Ham Radio Install
What I'm probably going to end up doing for a CB radio if I can't properly hack my Yaesu to transmit on the CB Freqs is go with this for a CB:
It'll mount the small box in the glove compartment and the handset will fold and sit nicely in the popout tray under the heating controls.
