The size for you front speakers are 4T......4T and 4" are technically the same size but mount differently......so make sure you get 4T for the front dash....

4t speakers?
Are 4t speakers the only speakers that will fit in the front of my '91 4runner? Regular 4" speakers won't fit? Oh yeah and where can I buy some of these 4t speakers?

I put regular 4" inch speakers in the 2nd gen I use to have, it doesn't fit perfectly. You could only use two of the screw mounts since its not a perfect fit, but it will work.

6x9's In a 1991 4runner? Possible?
Ok so I have a nice deck but blown 15 year old speakers. I think it's about time to upgrade. I have some 4" speakers for the front but I heard that you can put 5.25" speakers up there. Also I want to put some 6x9's in the back. I do a lot of transporting so I don't have anyroom for a sub.
Does anyone know if this iss possible or know of a way to make this happen?

take the speaker hole apart and see what you're working with. I put my 6x9s in the stock spot meant for 5 1/4s. yours proabably similar to my 87 and I just put them in there and screwed in one screw. I coulda done a better job but I'm lazy and haven't had a problem with them since so I havent done anything to it. As far as the front....aftermarket 4 inch speakers barely fit in mine. I wouldnt even bother anyways....the 4s put out good sound.

This is what I installed several years ago, unfortunately R/F discontinued the "T" model. The picture shows the 2 posts for Toyota, instead of the typical 4 posts.
