We have full steel bodies/roofs. I think that roll bar requirement is for vehicles like heeps and sammies. Most places have requirements like that. We'd be fine, its just for the jeepers. I went with a Hummer group that included many H2's which don't have roll bars.

I'll be in or around the Mule Shoe Bend area on July 10th. Anybody know how close this is? if so I could make a run that day. here's the Katemcy Rocks webpage:

i'll probably be in for something in july as well. and guys, i've seen soooo many pics of trucks from katemcy that are just like ours (well, okay, not nearly as cool as ours) in that they don't have actual roll-bars/cages, but just general roofs.
is it a trip that would be okay for newbies like me?

look at the site. looks like you can avoid anything you don't want to attempt. pretty much anyway. remember, YOU have to decide whether YOU think you can make it, don't let anybody tell you what THEY think you can do. That sometimes ends up in a mangled mess. so just drive around the stuff you don't want to try. half the fun to me is watching other people try stuff.

This place is great. Its just miles of rolling granite slabs that are super grippy. Even those with street tires will have great grip if you air down a bit. I don't know the place well enough to lead but if we have a sizeable group, the park will provide a good ol' boy to guide, spot etc. for a nominal cost. (It was well worth it last time.)
