You are all going to be in trouble when we stop allowing Offtopic to count.

Logan will drop back to a level 2!!!

Luckily this is a privately owned board, so Big Brother has teh final say

Its never out of control, its exactly within my control parameters

I think it'd be less retarded if there wasn't that large box under every post saying who thanked that person for a certain post. Thats the only beef I have with the whole thing.

I have been on several boards and moderate a small local one that does not allow off-topic post to count towards your number of post. I think it is a great idea! But honestly Rep or Thanks will tend to lead to a popularity contest and tend not to reward those with the most knowledge or those who are the most helpful. Either way I'm fine with it.

I will look at the options this weekend in the admin CP to see if some stuff can be turned off or not.
Check your CP too to see if there is an option.
I am on Droid right now using the mobile app, so I can not check it.

I'm with Rob, I've been on forums that have "Rep" and it gets out of control quick. I don't really mind it if I can turn off the stupid box between posts of who thanked who and when...but it is good to see the mods trying new things to make the board better
THANKS!

We like to try out new things, and if it proves unpopular, we will can it.

seems to be a fine idea to me...senerio: your looking for some infor on your rebuild because your stuck, you happen to see a good post on superbleeders build thread and find your answer, instead of pming him or adding to his build thread you can simply click the thanks button and be on your way to finish your work.....

Nope. Can't turn off the anything to do with the thanks button under user CP.

I still think the huge boxes under each post of -- who thanked that person for that particular post -- are pretty annoying. Thread pages are already long enough with some of the HUGE signatures we have on the board.
