Independence / Patriot 6-4-11

Always a great time at Indy / Patriot when you don't have to break out the tool bag or spare parts  Myself, my buddy Cory, and his buddy Mike ran it in 2.5 hours. We took our time and took a tons of pictures and video.

Cory dropping Indy

Mike dropping in, showing off his new rear steer Rockwell :supz:

Dropping in. Trail was in great shape! Toughest I've seen it in along time.

Just posing on the rock that I hit hard driver slider every time.

First big drop of Bunker Hill

Cory made the rest of Bunker Hill look easy! He only had to backup 1 time to make the hard right hand corner.

Mike down Bunker Hill. Those 49's are HUGE!

My turn down Bunker Hill. Took me alot more than 1 try on the right hand turn. My power steering box must be going out. It's super hard to turn right, turns left no problem.

Got to the top of Mike's 49" tire

Mike decided to climb up Bunker Hill after I dropped it. He made it look easy.

Big rock at the bottom of the intersection

Cory had no issues with the first section of Patriot.

I made the first section as well. Had to back up a couple times but nothing major.

2 Toyota's on 40's and Toyota axles running one of Colorado's toughest trails

Mike's buggy flexes out nicely!

Cory making A-Hole look easy!

Not bad rear flex for being leaf sprung! I also make it out of A-Hole with no issues.

Mike taking a tough line through A-Hole and showing why it's called Air Hole.

Cory on Coffin Rock. Coffin Rock gave Cory & myself the hardest time out of all the obsticles on Patriot. We tried the far left line, the far right line and everthing between it. Cory finally aired it out with a 5' wheelstand and took a couple people on the strap to keep him upright.

I also took every line possible on Coffin Rock. I thought I had the far left line at the last second, the rear tire would slip off of the Coffin. Finally took the right line and had to pull winch cable to get out.

Mike making it look easy. Check out the hole between Coffin Rock and the ledge swallowing a 49" tire.

The difference between a 39.5" tire and 49" tire

Once again, Cory making it look easy! He made it out on attempt #2. :supz:

I made it as far as I felt comfortable. Once the wheelstand got that big and my passenger rear tire still had a 4' undercut ledge to try and climb, I was ready for the winch cable.

Mike getting some air of his own. He also made the exit look easy.

Walked down to watch another group of 3 behind us. Sewell87 aka Cody taking the far right line in his ultra clean tubed out CJ-7

His buddy didn't fare as well on the right line. We got him righted with some damage to his windshield frame and sctrached paint on his tube work.
