Help Needed.. Denver Area
I picked up an 87 4runner from Flagstaff, AZ.. made it all the way to Denver and the next day I ended up blowing my headgasket 2 hours out of the city. Had it towed back and it's at a shop now.. get a call today saying it will need a new block as well and it'll cost me 4500 to fix... around what I paid for the 4runner itself. I don't know what to do at this point and it would really suck to have to just give it away. The truck is in pretty good shape with new tires, 4" lift and it had some head work done.. Is there anyone local that could help or have a 22re I could potentially buy? Or anyone with resources able to help me get this rig running again so I can bring it back to Minnesota? Any help, advice, leads, would be appreciated.. I am just really bummed out with how all of this turned out..

ill trade you a 94 4runner with less than 30k on the motor, body is rough but it runs good. i need a first gen body from a runner or pickup cab and bed. 1994 4runner 3.0 v6, reman, and a low mile tranny with new clutch.

according to the shop, one of the pistons has a hole through it.. the head is also cracked, so i was originally going to have them put a new one on until they noticed the piston. 4500 sounds way too steep for me and i'm not sure how to go about this.. i have 2500 tops to spend and was thinking maybe just swapping in a used 22re might be the best option.. or if any local forum members could help out at all that would be greatly appreciated. unortunately i don't really want to trade unless it's for another 1st gen 4runner. i've been wanting this body style since my younger brother crashed mine about 3 years ago. otherwise i guess i'd sell the truck as is if someone had an offer.

What about renting a Uhaul and tow dolly? As far as motor when you get home and if need to do major work, here is another option. http://www.unitedengine.com/index.ph...d=10&Itemid=55 I have already bought two motors from them in the past and currently have one in transit and it is in Dallas. $1038 is total cost tax and shipping, and I didnt need to send in a core. They are on special this week
