mikeys87 gets a lift
this weekend me and mike installed all his new parts.
To include all front ball joints, a-arm bushings, and sway arm bushings. All rubber was replaced with Polyeurathane.
While we were into it we added 26 mm sway a way torsion bars and 2" add a leafs for the rear.
as with any truck of this age we ran into a few "minor" problems. :pat:
Control arm bolt that wouldnt come off (until we took the gas axe to it)
Ball joint that would not separate (until we used a "persuader" AKA 5 lb sledge)
U-bolts that did not fit. They were plenty long enough but not enough thread.
So I had to donate the ones from my runner and use Mikes new ones
So now this job just got a lot longer. My runner takes up a couple of hours to adjust and re-install add a leafs that were previously left out.
So this job that should have taken a day or so to complete has now taken all weekend to do. But the good news is Mikes runner looks great.
Mikes runner is on the right!

afrter all has been said and done Mikes runner has gained 1 1/2" in thefront and 3" in the rear ( the rear is expected to sag a bit after it works in so his truck will level out.)
Now its time for a front end alignment and those beautiful new 31s

Thanks for the help and the write up Will . Also added extended diff breathers after you left. Next weekend is the custom snorkel install and the hopeful new gears and diffs soon after that. This truck is starting to cost me some $$$$$$. Good thing they last for so long between repairs .

yea $$$$$$$$$$$ my truck sits 6" higher in the front, i have 4.10's in the rear and 4.88's up front, and no front driveshaft
thats over a grand just so i can go 4wheelin again and then i may need a rear driveshaft after i lift the rear
btw -- did you guys reserve campsites yet?? hot showers sound nice, also as for the drinkin in the campsites i think it is illegal in any national forest to consume the nector of the gods just a little heads up for when the rangers come around

about campsites... I went back in october with a few friends and we stayed off of one of the trails i.e. primative camping. I dont know who all is up for this but its probably what im gonna end up doing. I think its alot more fun not having to worrie about neighbors and the ranger. Plus im sure we could use the showers anyways. oh yeh. we avoid the camping fee and reservation too.
