Thanks a lot man! I don't have any yota buddies , and only one offroad buddy, and he lives in Georgia and drives a jeep. I have family in Raleigh, maybe once I get it goin we could do some wheeling over there?

I know of a mild trail up in Roxboro we could hit up. Its more a nice view at the top of the hill than anything else. I will ask around and see if there is a few trails that are open.

Elizabeth City, not too far from you.

I am having a VERY hard time figuring out what to swap in it to make it worth driving again. I have an SBC 350 (L31 Vortec) and a 1UZFE sitting in my shed at this point and I feel as though I want a 4.8 or 5.3 now. I HATE the spider injector setup on the L31 and I dislike the adaptability of the 1UZFE (to my driveline). I should probably just use the 1UZ and the A340E and just swap out the tailshaft etc.

sweet man!!that's a nice looking 4runner!but im not really all that familiar with those two motors at lease with the fuel injection and stuff. I have a sbc 350 in mine with a carb and a 700r4 trans and I love it!!its not really a daily driver or anything but it could be except for the crappy mpg it gets!lol

That's a sweet rig. I would def be down to start a yota club or just an off road club in this area. Are you military? I just pulled my motor out of my truck and am having it rebuilt in kinston right now so the truck is down for probably 3 more weeks. Ever go to "Jump and Run mud bog"?, I go all the time!

Yea I'm in the military. Originally from Kansas City. My trucks also dwn for 2 weeks right now, nothing mechanical just waited till last minute to register it so I'm waiting for it to come back. If we can get a couple more people we could have a meet! Although I don't know any places to wheel.
I've never been to that mud run, but I did see a group talking about it on Facebook. The group "swamp dogs off road crew"

Nope.

Cameron/Ft. Bragg. Limited with IFS and no lockers (still). 85 axle in the garage, piecing together rebuild/upgrade parts. First trip to Uwharrie last weekend, pretty fun.

Raleigh area, 89 4Runner! First car. Haven't taken it out to do some serious crawling but I intend to turn it into a mean crawler one day. Thinking I may have to do an engine swap soon, any suggestions?
