i just did one on 4runner4me's 3rd gen, its not THAT hard. common man. If you really feel like you need help ill do it, it wont take more than about 2.5 hours tops. Its litterally, unbolt the mounts, lift one side at a time, insert block, bolt it back, repeat for other side. Radiator brackets and steering extension take about 10 min each

If you can brush your teeth without causing permanent injury you can do a body lift. Chris (ravencr) has a write-up about his body lift with good pics and Roger Brown has great instructions as well. Nothing to it!

Good luck!

With all the guys in 4ROC there is always someone to help, there are enough projects and things changing on everyone's rig, we should open a shop. <---more people just need to learn this.

Good luck w/ the BL I might be getting one soon too, so that I can possibly fit 35's with the lift I have now and some minor fender trimming.

That would be great, but we you would have to let Heeps in, they're just to many of them to be ignored. <---Cocky Heep Owners

Matt and I are moving, but after we settle in I'll help you. If not bring the BL to Uwharrie and we can put it on there.

Dont tempt me man. I'll do it just to say that i got a body lift while on a 4wheeling trip in the woods. What all do we need? Can we use stock jacks?

id like to see you do a body lift with a hilift and not dent the body . . . theres nowhere solid to lift from. i dont like em, they are so damn tricky to disengage.

you just need a bottle jack, a stack of tires to get the jack high enough, and a piece of wood to distribute the load so you dont bend the body metal any

Sam,
I'm getting ready to take some welding classes at a CC around here durring the summer. I can't wait, it seems like everything in a 1st gen Runner needs to be welded in some way. It would be awsome to do the BL in Uwharrie, the only thing that will suck is that I won't be there to see/help with it, Oh well if you stick around Sunday I can see the finished product.
