New Off-Road Park???? Hopefully!!
thought i'd start this thread, maybe we can all post up to keep current on the progress of this proposed park in Central Pennsylvania.
have seen newspaper articles, etc for about the last yea, but it seems like it's gaining some serious momentum.
just saw this story on our local news site
http://www.wnep.com/videobeta/618e70...rk-Get-Rolling
and it's front page news in our local newspaper too

Robb....you are right, we are indeed lucky.
about, oh , maybe 10 years ago, some of the former STRIP MINE land was being re-claimed and semi developed........for the most part, the land is unsuitable for anything much because of the lack of soil. but, in the area of where XXXTREME and i live, many former mountains of culm have been flattened out and "reclaimed"
we used to have an off road park here that apparently was a premiere facility and a destination for persons from far away, but they were run out of town under false pretenses of a fictional cargo airport that never materialized.......the operators of the park moved out of state and apparently are doing well where they are.
there are NO state / government sanctioned or otherwise allowed areas in Pennsylvania to "legally" 4 wheel.....truck or 4wheeler or the like. the only areas are ones like Rausch Creek and a few scattered ones across the state (3 that i know of in the whole state) that are privately owned and run. although i believe private enterprise is the way to go for something like this and not wait for the government to "provide" us with something, the insurance / permits etc can certainly be prohibitive.
i live pretty far back in the woods........land everywhere, but only 1.8 acres is mine...in other words, plenty of land , none to use. kinda like the "water, water everywhere and not a drop to drink" saying.
so here's to hoping to have another area to wheel (less rocks would be nice).
