Anybody dealt withOregon Engine Rebuilders?

I am looking at buying a reman. 3.0 from them they say they will warranty it for as long as I own the vehicle. What do you think? Should I go back with the 3.0? It didnt have much power.

Nope, and not _here_ either.

fwiw, searching will find a lot of recommendations on rebuilders. Personally, I've had great experience with Orient Engine.

Oregon Engine Rebuilders

I am going to be putting a new engine in my truck. In searching I have found a company called Oregon Engine Rebuilders. They have a Rebuilt 81 engine I can get form them for 995. 100 dolars extra for an rv cam, and 120 more for them to port and polish it. So about 1200 Bucks. They claim to have a lifetime warranty. As long as the engine hasnt been abused, or overheated, they claim they will back up their engine for the rest of its life. I live in northern cal, and plan on driving up with my old engine and picking up new one. I talked to the guy and he said this is fine. Plus there is no sales tax in oregon. They claim that it doesnt have to be installed by a shop to honor warantee. Just have to follow their instructions when installing it. I want toknow if anyone has used this company before. Do you guys think its to good to be true. They ahve been in buisness since 1983 they say. Just want a second opinion. Thanks

sounds good to me plus the no sales tax is always nice. Usualy companies dont warrenty motors if you install it. Make sure if they give you instructions on installing it you follow everything so if for some reason its bad (which it shouldnt be cause its a pretty easy motor to build) then you can call them on it. I would go for it

I will more than likely go with one of their engines in the spring for my '81, there are only an hour away from me . The owner, Ted, has been very willing to take time for several of my questions and I have heard nothing but good things about them from the Toyota community around Portland...

edit: I guess I was wrong, thought that Oregon Engine Rebuilders was also engnbldr. Both in the same area, my bad..

I bought one of their engines and its has 4k or so on it now with no probs. I didn't follow thier warranty procedures so I can't comment on their return policy, but it works foir me right now. It's hard to rebuild a 22re wrong so for the price they are a good choice.,

I've got over 6k on an engine from them. Absolutely love their customer service. This was my first engine replacement so I called them almost daily for a couple of weeks.

I'm going with one of their motors very soon. Problem I'm having is wether to have the built head put on or go stock. I want relaibility with a smidge more grunt, and I don't want to have to run premuim.

I seen a 3.0 that they have with hipo option my issue is that any warranty work has to go back to them and after pulling and shipping both ways its a waist of money and time to not do it yourself

With this one, I think regional is best. Shipping heavy things is expensive.

I have been running one of their motors for over a year now with no problems. I got the rv cam, polished head, and oversized valves. I am very happy with the extra boost from the little 22re. I also went with the lce header and 2.25 exhaust. Sounds good, runs good. I would do business with them again.
