Quick recap of how I did mine:
Put the truss in place and hold it there with a floorjack
Use a centerpunch to mark the center of each of the 4 holes on your frame.
Carefully drill the backside holes starting with a 1/4" drill bit, go slowly and use cutting fluid on the drill bit.
Enlarge the holes to 3/8" making sure to keep your drill level and straight.
Drill through the front of the frame and the truss from the backside (my 3/8" bit was long enough) making sure to keep your drill level and straight.
Make sure the bolts fit through both sides of all 4 holes.
Paint and do the final install.
Hope this helps!

i went through steve's original post regarding the IFS Truss.
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f37/...el-name-73531/
there are pre-drilled bolt hole ONLY on the back side, no holes on the from side. from the picture he posted,
i have to drill through the horns back and front then the front side of the truss, right?
i believe steve did it the truss the way it is with a reason, my question is why the front side doesn't have pre-drilled holes?

probably because its impossible to get it truely straight shot through. so while you drill through one side, the other side might not match the predrilled holes in the truss. plus, the angle of the hole through the steel may cause problems putting a bolt through.
now i know you could drill the rear hole, then drill the front, and they would match ok, but i think it is easier to drill through the whole thing in one straight shot, that way you know your bolt will go through.
just a thought.

take a look at the problem i ran into this morning when i tried to install the truss.
the driver side got in with no problem, but on the passenger side, the front right corner of the halfpipe got blocked by the front differential housing, pictures are following:
i marked the bolt hole, as you can see, there isn't much of meat for the bolt to grab.
i can trim down the corner with a cutting wheel, but from what i'm see now, i have to cut off a lot of steel. i'd prefer to ask around before i do some thing stupid and irreversible.

There is something off with your truck, that front diff is over more. You will have to grind the corner of the truss down, it will be fine, there is alot of metal there.

wooohooo!! just another reason to play with a cutting wheel.
school me on the front differential, is it firmly mounted on the frame or it has some flex, i mean how much clearence i need to leave between the truss and diff. housing.
thanks

i'm goint to paint my later today. i was planning using spray paint stuff from homedepot, but do you guy think it's a good idea to paint in with spray-on bedliner? it's supposed to be alot tougher than the regular spray paint. wish i could powder coat it.
