Cross member foul ups.

1988 4runner. Am I missing something? Have a turbo R150 w/ chain drive xfer case. I'm 4 inches too far forward on a 3vze cross member. Gear shift levers line up right, engine is just too far forward to really work right. It looks to be all in the cross member pushing it twards the front by about 4 inches. I have area real 22re truck i'm comparing it to. Aside from the motor mounts on the frame being different I'm still off on the shifters.

Hoping someone out there has converted 3vze to 22R and tell me what I'm missing.

I do have an R154 & rf1a sitting on the floor. perhaps that and a crossmember will solve it.

Going form a 3.0 to a 22R series engine the crossmember and the location of the motor mounts on the frame are different

You have every thing more or less in place ??

With things being to far front .

Get the engine bolted to the motor mounts

Modify the cross member so it works

Build a new one if need be.
.

Now when I did my 3.4 swap I needed to cut a bigger hole in the trans tunnel.

If your really stuck your not that far away I will be glad to help with anything I can.

The R150 in not the Turbo Transmisison.
The R151F is the turbo transmission.

I was under the impression the R154 was a 2WD transmisison

Here are some pics. I'm thinking the W56 has the shift at the front to make up the room.

With the way that sits now would you be able to get the fan on and the radiator in??

I know the cross member for the 22re engines is different .

What about the front driveshaft will it be to short??
