All right, seat covers complete! well, the front anyway... still need to do the 2nd and 3rd row covers, in due time. The front ones were the most wanted and the only ones that will have pockets on the back, these are the most difficult. I didn't add up hours, but I spent about 4 hours each of the two days I worked on these, including removing the seats and all the measuring and cutting....
Turned out pretty good, I used 1680 ballistic nylon for the main part and the centers are heavy marine vinyl that matches the interior.
Got my driver testing them out, haahaa:
goes well with the car seat, haa!....
another shot of the pockets; the middle has a horizontal zipper to access the original seat pocket. Will get some more photos up, crunched for time....

Got back last week from a 10 day vacation in the beast; went to Boise, ID from home and then camped our way thru the Sawtooths up thru ID and ending at Glacier nat'l park, MO. Weather was cold and drizzle in Glacier but it was still fantastic. No hard core trails or anything, but did have this thing loaded down and pulling up some pretty narrow winding forest roads.
Pretty sure there's still some imprints in the 'oh, S' handle on the wife's side from forest road 40 outside of North Fork, ID, hahaa.
Some 'extreme' camping our first night at redfish lake in the sawtooth NRA;
was 25' F that night and snowed/rained on us until the next morning...
redfish lake...
and of course, glacier... no glamour shots here, stayed in a lodge that weekend...
view from the hotel ^^
This was our last night in the panhandle of ID, at roughly 5,000 feet.

thanks Mark! I love this thing, it's a decent 4wd rig, a luxury ride and a muscle car all in one. She is smooth! I wish it had a diesel motor though....
made the seat covers from scratch, I still have my small side business making tactical gear for mil/law enforcement so I put my skills to some good use on my Yotas.
Took me nearly two days to finish these!
Need to finish the 2nd and 3rd row, those will be much easier.
Your runner is lookin' good still too, my '93 has been neglected since it's big brother showed up (and the rear window stopped working), but I make sure to turn her over every week. The driver door lock is all messed up too... rrrrrr....

for sure! I'm planning on a 3-4" lift and eventually the steps will be chopped off (they're welded directly onto the frame, not removable) and replaced with tube sliders. May be a bit down the road though.
I contacted ARB about a rear suspension lift option but they do not have anything yet; I'm hoping by the time I get the money to do it, they will have something for the rear. Probably going with OME all around...

talked with a buddy that works at 4wparts, come to find out the magnaflow exhaust kit on the tundras are netting 37 hp! cat back bolt on HP, yee haw! Just need to figure out the correct fit for the sequoia instead of the tundra but I'm pretty stoked that I can get a 10% power increase from exhaust. Proven on the dyno on a decent amount of vehicles according to him. I'm in! Especially if I net a tiny bit of fuel economy from it also, this thing needs all the help it can get in that department....

did some front brake replacement today, yee haw!!!
stock brakes SUCKED big kahones but they have tons of meat on them, not sure why they're so bad.
put Hawks LTS pads on there and had the rotors turned, did the bed in process and they already are far better than the OEM garbage ones.
eeeeeeerch! ABS works too, hahahaa! made sure to test that out, she stops quick buddy.
damn I love this thing, even the cops are jealous of my (wife's) sequoia.... can't wait for exhaust and some lift, really needs more clearance badly.
bought some Zerex asian coolant, it's time for the coolant system to get done, long overdue; pretty sure the first owner did nothing to it which means it's 5+ years old. Tested it a while back with the volt meter, was sitting right at .6, time to change it.

Still loving the 08 man!!! Two things you need to do though....
1) Let me know how well it handled the load of all your camping gear (i.e. what all you hauled and about how much it weighed) and passengers etc while going out from Boise on your camping trip.
2) Finish the seat covers for the second row (not sure on the third row yet) and then let me know if you want to sell a set.
Keep us up to date!!

Finished the rear seat covers a while back, to be honest, can't say I wanna do any more! talk about a PITA... first one is always hardest though to work out the kinks.
Turned out fair, not perfect but functional.
Took the beast on a cross country trip to the east coast this summer also, performed like a champ. Hit ethanol free stations along the way (until about chicago where they thin out) and averaged about 16mpg's highway loaded down. The sequoia handles beautiful even when stuffed full of weight.
Here's a couple pics of the rear covers, just made them to match the front exactly minus the pockets on the back so that the cargo area can still be used when all the seats are down.

thanks, always be around! if not all that active all the time...
just been super busy with work, not much time to work on the yotas lately or hang out on the forum. But the yotas all running good despite my neglecting them all.
Any mods for sure will still go up on YT!

Just discovered this thread, and love it. Fantastic rig. I bought a 2012 a couple months ago, finally took it on a trip to the NC mountains. Very comfortable and capable, although the 15-20 miles of dirt roads we took weren't much of a "test," still enjoyed getting it off the pavement. Look forward to seeing more.

Still loving this beast!
I got my hands on an armored one, unbelievably awesome machine. Bulletproof, only visible difference was can't roll down the windows and suspension has been upgraded. But other than that, bone stock/same as 08 and up sequoias. woo! Bet she cost a 1/4 million bucks easy.
Anyway, not much new to it, fixed a tire that got a screw in it/slow leak, thanks discount tire for hookin' that up for us. And oil change for free, we just provided the oil/filter and wrench.
I'm thinking dual battery setup next for upgrades.... a nice big deep cycle battery with a good isolator and switch. And of course some more power mods; USB port plugs all around, small inverter, etc... in good time. Got a roof rack carrier for it that come in super handy for extra crap.
Anyway, it's still driving like a champ, love this beast!
