02 Toyota Sequoia DBW Throttle Issue
Hey guys,
I recently replaced the starter in my 02 toyota sequoia. Afterward the drive by wire doesn't seem to be working. Also the vehicle stability control lights are on. I push the throttle approx 90% of the way down and finally the cable drawn portion takes over. I've verified both plugs are plugged in for the DBW motor. It did throw a check engine light. The code was for a tps circuit B I believe.
Things i've done since then:
Cleaned the throttle body (which I may do again)
Checked the fuse for the stability control and dbw circuit.
My first instinct is to go buy a new tps sensor. It costs $400.00 for a new oen. I'm trying not to throw money at the car without first confirming what is wrong.
One other thing. When I put the starter back in I put both 14mm bolts back in. I left the 12mm harness bolt out. The harness seemed to be holding itself didn't think it was needed. This isn't a grounding point is it?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! I love this SUV and desperately need to get it running correctly.
Thanks
Matt

Those may be grounding points. If this happened right after you replaced the starter and left them out, I'd start there.
Also if your engine is DBW there shouldn't be any other cables attached to the TB.
You can test your TPS with a multimeter.

Thanks Jason!
There is a throttle cable but from i'm told its for limp in mode. It only opens up once the pedal has been pressed down id say 75% of the way. I guess its a fail safe for when the DBW system fails.
I will give that bolt a go tonight see if I can get it back in without removing the intake again.
What should the TPS measure out to with a meter?
Thanks
Matt
