FJ40 as a hunting rig?

Long story short, do or have any of you used your FJ40 to hunt with? Mainly talking about deer. Wondering if theres enough room for the deer and some basic gear and equipment and if it suited you. Trying to decide on a T100 or FJ40 as my new primary toy down the road. Maybe another 4Runner

I don't have one but either would work for hunting. A FJ40 would have more space inside that would be out of the weather. But if you got a pickup you could get a topper to keep the stuff in the back dry. There is a guy in my hunting camp that uses a Lexus 4 door car, it works for him

I had a 40 that was used for hunting when I lived in a Utah. It's great off road and for transporting a couple guys and guns, but not so much for packing out a 250lb Muley. So the deer went on the roof rack, or the hood. Then it's a perfect truck for anything outdoors. My ex in-laws had 3/4 ton trucks for campers and such, but suspension was to stiff for exploring or getting to different areas of the Mtn, but the pickups would carry anything you needed, but only 3guys max, albeit uncomfortably....

So I guess it depends on how many people, amount of gear, and whether you will drive or trailer the rig. Personally, I'm for the 40, but a 60 might suit you better. Or you just may want a pickup, in which case it'll be a two person trip...

i'd say a 60 might suit you slightly better as well. i know people can get a full sheet of plywood in the back of those, so definitely more room - plus there's the option for 2nd row seating if you need it and still has room behind them like a 4runner does....but it's not a 4runner, it's what the 4runner wishes it was!
