This isn't mine, but it's a 2WD Toyota! I also thought this section needed some attention.. so here it is.. a 1971 Toyota Hilux 2WD. $900, not running. I found this thing on craigslist and i want it... .

well well well, we seem to have a 2wd subforum huh.
I have one of those. my little daily driver. the Travis truck. Got it for a song and have had little to do to it as of yet. Point A to point B kinda truck. Yes it has been off road and down some country roads as well to get to a couple fishing holes. my build thread is here. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f199...travis-215565/ if you want to see some more pics but here is the most recent one of the little beater. getting around 30 mpg in the truck and it has some serious pep when you punch it. Well pep as compared to a 4x4 turning 33's. I need to tint the windows and do some other cosmetic stuff for comfort but it is one seriously stock truck with little options. Less stuff to break in my opinion. This little daily driver has been a blessing recently as i'm financing my other truck the 84. I can put all the commuter miles on the travis truck and use the 84 for fun.

These are the only pics I have of the 4runner right now, the wife did this the other week.

It has 31 inch tires on nasty looking chrome wheels, a magnaflow exhaust and I put an electric fan on it. Its a 3vze auto with the deluxe cluster and moon roof, the wife wants a new car so it will most likely end up being mine one of these days.

you're close enough to some sand dunes to warrant a prerunner build and given the set up of that 4runner the whole family style prerunner 4runner would be very cool imo. I have yet to look under a 2wd 4runner are they like the 4x4 trucks minus the front diff and transfer case or are they set up like the 2wd trucks with five lugs, smaller brakes, different a-arms among other things?

They are the exact same as the 4wd's minus the diff, tcase, driveline and axles. The wheels are the same bolt pattern as my pickup, maybe one day a prerunner build, first on my list is my truck but as it gets upgraded, the 4runner gets updated with the parts from the truck like the 4.10 rear diff over the stock 3.73's.

Makes me miss my 95. Never let your wife talk you into selling a truck.

Here is mine. Rebuilt motor, replaced frame, has an 83 Celica 5 speed tranny, had a 4 speed. Came with a Knaphiede bed with racks. Racks are in shed and I dont use them but they are well built. Put a SR5 Guage in, replaced the bench with buckets.

Will probably be getting painted again as I didnt replace the rocker panels the first time. It was in bad shape when I got it. Bought just for the mileage and wound really enjoying the truck. For a 4 cylinder it will run.

87 body on an 86 frame, Ford Ranger Rims. This thing is pieced together.

Its a fun truck to drive. Need to put my mudflaps back on. The old ones rotted away.

Nope, no vids.

That's what it looked like 16 years ago when I bought it.

It's currently stripped and being prepped for paint, then new motor, more travel up front, etc..etc..etc..

wow, that huge 88 is awesome lookin'.

anyways, here's the best picture I have of mine..

93 base, 22re, lowered front torsion, 3" blocks and removed middle leaf in the back, and some other stuff.
those aren't my wheels, they're my friends: we were test fitting them (I wish those were mine though..)

kinda taking a break from working on the truck though, so I can focus on school and working (can't buy parts without money )

1988 Toyota Pickup

I love my '88 Toy! My dad bought it new in '88 and it has seen about 1/2 of the USA. He and I traded when I was planning a cross-country trip in 2000. MR2 for the pickup, not a bad trade. I loved that car but love the truck even more! Wife doesn't like it but it is like an old friend
Turned 300,000 June of 2010. Was thinking of selling her for a little while, but decided to put some TLC into her instead. Great little truck, I truly enjoy driving it. God has been good to me in that pickup!
Many fond memories!

As you can see its a 86 2wd extra cab longbed with the 22r and the a43d transmission. so far its got add a leaf and a rear shackle for the rear with procomp shocks and up front a small torsion crank. Its got 4wd fenders all around and a new TG low pro bumper due to a previous collision. it now has a grille.
