im looking to lower my 92 toyota single cab pickup 2WD, nothiing better to do to a 2wd, if it was 4wd id lift it of course, anyways how do i lower this thing for cheap? im thinking blocks in the back but how do i do the front? i heard you can torque down the torsion bars? how do i do that exactly? i need some input, thanks guys!!

Put about a thousand pounds in the bed and a thousand pounds on the front.

Ok Seriously, drop spindles are probably a better way to drop the front, than just loosening the torsion bars. Meh, blocks are alright for the rear. I can't think of anything better right now, though. Maybe de-arched leaf springs...shorter shackle? However a shorter shackle will reduce the amount the spring can flex.

The best thing is air bags, IMHO. They're all the rage now-a-days. I don't know if they make a kit for these trucks. I bet it could be done, but it'd be costly, time consuming, and labor intensive (especially if there is no kit available).

Come to think of it...since the torsion bars are on the lower control arm on the 2wd trucks, would adding a spacer to the lower ball joint lower it? Hmmm...I don't know. It's just a thought.

yea i just want a cheap way to lower it lol i wont have this truck for more than 1 year, its 2wd...

but for the short answer, un cranking the torsions and blocks will be the easiest and cheapest way unless you want to spend the money on drop spindles.
un cranking the torsions on a 2wd is basically the same as on a 4x4, you just turn the bolt the other direction. http://www.off-road.com/trucks-4x4/t...ent-19258.html

read article on ball joint flip there is no mention of torsion bar adjust ment. if i carry this mod out do i need to adjust torsion bar.

the balljoint flip will not lower it a whole lot by itself. you will need to also do the torsions. here are a few threads about lowering and what it involves.

making a "prerunner" is not cheap by any means and takes a more then just lifting a 2wd.
