'84 22r mileage
Greetings one and all,
First post here so here it is;
'84 22r, 2wd, 327k miles. Sounds like it just came from the factory. Timing chain just done. Oil sample says its pretty nice for that many miles.
Run it til it dies??

Sometimes I miss my little two wheel drive. You get better mileage and they will get up and run for a 4 cylinder. I put some Ford Ranger wheels on mine and swapped out the 4 speed transmission with an 83 Celica 5 speed transmission for better mileage. It is a direct fit if you are looking for some other options. You might want to look into installing a Weber carburetor if your Aisin is getting worn. Welcome to Yotatech.

Thanks for the welcome. I have Weber's on my Soob's. I have desmogged this Aisin as much as I could. This carb is really good. I wanted to change out but it runs too good to make the change.
Did these come with a 4 spd originally? I bought it for $200 without a transmission. I grabbed a 5 spd and stuck it in, assuming thats what came with it. Got maintenance records for it since the guy bought it new.
It scoots along nicely. Just decided to fix it up a bit for my last daughter that starts driving in a couple years, she loves it. Its a long bed with hooks. I need to make a couple of the typical panels for it, from the rot at the seams. Cab is fine.

Some had 4 speed and some 5 speeds. My truck was a very base model and was shipped as a "Cab and Chassis truck" which basically was a work truck or for commercial use. From what I have seen those seem to be 4 speeds and I could be wrong on that.
Two wheels usually did not get all the lights, bells, and whistles. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f123...ap-mods-62861/ Here is a few things that you can add to them that makes them a little nicer. The SR5 gauge swap is another mod really common.
