2007 V6 Rav4 Coolant System Pressure Check... Adapter?

Greetings All!

Long-time viewer/user of this site from previous yota truck ownership, but lost my password/account info so I've started over.

Anyhow- A friend of mine recently gave me her 2007 Rav4 V6 to use for 2 years while overseas, and I plan on returning it to her in the shape I found it

A couple weeks ago I had a mechanic friend help replace the water pump (I've done plenty of water pumps myself, though felt a little out of my element with the Rav4 setup...) which I heard about to go for a week or so, and then it did, which I caught in a timely manner and did not drive hot. Car has about 77K on it, which apparently is when the water pumps go out on these. All of that to preface the following:

it was surely the pump that went out, though after replacing, there is still a small/steady leak that is definitely not from the pump/gasket and we cannot figure out the source. I spent some serious time trying to ID & buy an adapter that would fit this system (so we could use a coolant system pressure tester) and to the best of my decent research skills, could find no info on such things. The only thing I can think to do is bypass the reservoir filler cap.... Is there a better way to do this, or an adapter out there that's not too spendy?

Also- are there any other known likely culprits for this year/model? It's tricky when you can't see 90% of the connections/components of the system...

Lastly- any yota savvy/yota techs in the Nashville area that I can pay to help with this? I don't have the $ to pay a stealership, and it's not my primary vehicle at present so it's not a desperate scenario, though I was just about to start using the car to do some occasional Lyft driving...

Thanks!

JB
