1983 with 22R-E
Been doing some reading throughout the site. If I read everything correctly, my 1983 3/4 ton long bed at one point got a transplant. What kinda confuses me is that the 22R-E was available in 83-84 and 85-97.
By looking at the tag in the engine compartment, mine shows it stamped 22R and the diagram under the hood states 22R. So am I correct to assume that at one point the motor was replaced?
This little beater has over 400K miles. Runs like a champ and gets about 23 mpg.

Interesting...
I'll have to take a closer look. Thanks for the reply.
Just an FYI, I frequent the wrecking yards alot. So I'll be posting some pics and locations as they come up. I'm in So. Cal.
I've had this little beater for about 3 years. At first I wasn't gonna do much to it. But now it deserves some attention.
I've made two trips up to the eastern sierra's for fishing (about 700 miles round trip), loaned it to my bro-in-law twice for about 6 months at a time for work, and has made many trips to the wrecking yards.
Since I've had it back, I've done the entire brake system, tune-up, replaced a fender with all the missing lenses, hit it with a few rattle cans of flat black, painted the grille/headlight bezels, and bumper gloss black, new tires, matching seat (my old one was brown), replaced interior grab handles, SR5 steering wheel, replace steering column cover, and leather shift knob.
It's no longer up for loan...Now it's MY daily driver and get thumbs up all the time.
