I love Garands. Just like Patton said "the greatest single battle implement devised by man". My buddies dad is a retired National Match Armorer and he rebuilds them to make them look like off the factory. If you have ever been to a gun show down there you have prolly seen them.

I absolutly despise Glock. They have way too many accidental discharges cause of that trigger safety BS. I would rather carry someting that ya know is gonna work everytime. I would prefer a 1911 but I jus aint got the cash. This is what I got for a sidearm

nice weapon! i hear you on the glock. my friend (not real big into guns but has a slight interest) and i went to the sj gun show bout amonth ago and he was asking why there was a bit of rivalry between glock people and 1911 people so i handed him 1 of each and asked him "just off of feel what one would you rather trust you life with?" he looked at the glock like some one had just puked in his hands. made me laugh

i've got many handguns. glocks, 1911, .357 etc.
if it came down to it and i could choose only one, it would be my glock model 23 .40 cal.
reliable. durable. lighter than a steel gun. did i mention reliable?

I have not posted my two new Glocks in here yet, or updated pics of my Colt AR15.
As far as the Glock verses 1911 issue goes, I like Glocks better.
I have the 21SF and a 36 both in 45 ACP, and they fit my hands very well.
The latter Glock is for concealed carry.
I also like how the Glock strips down in a matter of seconds, and it is so much easier to clean than my old Taurus 9 mm I had years ago.

cory-while i am not a huge fan of glocks i will say yes they are reliable i have just never picked up one that felt comfortable in my hand but my ruger feels like a glove when i pick it up. that ar is awsome i am going to start my first build in a few months. i currently work at a machine shop, a job we just picked up is making battle comp muzzle brakes you might like the muzzle flip reduction check it out on battlecomp.com (i am not one to pitch a product but i realy like it and figure you might too)

The friend that sold me the AR15 when it was stone stock back in 2007 has a very huge collection of guns/rifles including 1911s in 45 ACP.
He use to hate Glocks and thought they were cheap, that is until a friend of his invited him to a local indoor range and he shot his friends G17.
He fell in love with it right away, then he got the 21SF.
He saw that I was looking for a handgun for home defense and when camping, and he invited me over to check them both out.
They fit my hand so much better than other guns including his Colt 1911s I have shot before with him.
Never heard of a Glock accidentally discharging, but then I would not keep it chambered when on me, I would have to charge it first.
I will have to check your site on the muzzle brake thing.
I was going to get the double stack Glock 30 since it can use the same 13 round mags my 21SF uses, although they would hang down a bit as the stock mags are a 10 round one, but the shop was out of them.
He asked what the compact 45 would be fore, and I told him for concealed carry, and he said the 36 was slimmer than the 30, although it only holds 6 rounds, and the mags are not interchangeable between the two guns.
I still like the 36 though, and I am waiting for the shop to get in some TruGlow sights for it, they are the same as on the 21SF.
They have been out since I picked up the 36 more than a month ago.
Have not shot the new 36 yet, always to busy on weekends.
The 21 jumps a tad, I am use to my old 9 mm I had years ago.
But I wanted something with good stopping power, and I was told the 45 ACP is a good choice if you have to end up taking someone down.
I got use to the 45 very fast, and I am glad I went with it over a 9 mm.
I have heard rumors that a 40 actually has more kick than the 45.

my ruger 345 is the softest recoiling 45ACP i have ever fired i fired a sig 45 recently and was suprised by how much recoil there was. but the worst kicking hand gun i have ever owned was my walther p99qa .40 that gun was an alaround peice o-crap 600 rounds and broke 5 magazines (the floor plate would break off from recoil and dump all the ammo on the ground)

One gun for me would be my trusty old BRNO in 375H&H. Nuttin' fancy. Just a simple Czech Mauser in a versitile chambering. I have hunted the world with mine. Nothing it won't take.

hey i am planning on starting my first AR build in the next few weeks and i have done a bit of searching online for parts, lower kits, uppers amd general advice on what to do and who to buy stuff from. i am planning on buying my stripped lower froma local manufacture next week and i came across AR15depot.com any one have any experence with them? are they a complete rip off of worth working with ? any input would be helpfull.

Yes I could also convert an AR-15 to .22LR or even an M-16 but I have seen too many issues with the uppers, slide hammer etc etc on the conversions. This would be a perfect gun for small game and target shooting and tactical shooting competitions.

The Colt is nice, but in a recent magazine they did a test of the dedicated AR type 22s, and the S&W like I want to get came out on top.
