Looking for rebuilt engine experience in Portland, Oregon
I found this forum while researching for a shop to rebuild my Toyota.
What a great group!
I would like to find someone that has a locally rebuilt engine with high mileage.
It seems OER has a lot of engines that need warranty repairs, a quality shop would not have this regularly.
I want a quality rebuild that should easily reach 200k.
Since I am the original owner I plan to keep my block and head.
If there are upgradeable options I should consider please explain.
What is the best/strongest clutch to use?
It's a 2000 extra cab 4X4 TRD 5VZfe engine rear locker with 267,000 miles.
The head gasket is going out it is time to rebuild.
Anyone know of a local shop that does this type of quality work?
Do any of them install as well?
If not how difficult is it to swap or do you know of someone who installs?
Thank you

At 1st appearance it seemed that this group had many members in the PNW that would answer members questions..etc. Guess I was wrong.
Asking for recommended engine builders in the area is a basic referral question, but no one answered.
I ended up choosing someone without any help or input from this group.
Thanks for nothing.

I don't know about the 3.4 but I just got a 22re from CENTRAL CYLINDER HEAD good price and it has over 7k on it and everything is good! There shop number is 503-234-8896 so give them a shout and check it out. Also I feel nw team whatever is over priced.

Well...in my defense, the only CHS Machine Co. review that I knew of was a good one. Wildblue(member here) has nothing but good things to say about them(their shop and employees) and the engine he purchased from them(Hi-Pro 3VZ-E).

Anyway, I didn't recommend them. I just knew of them, so I shared that info.

They are swindlers
Guys,
Sorry to bring this old thread up.
Pacmachineco, CHS machine co,
engineparts2013, Pmcmachine.com and any of the other shell company names that are run by the same people in the Portland, Oregon area are NOT trustworthy. I added my sob story to Mudhuppy's linked thread up above.
I guess if you are local- you can march into their shop and get results in person. I bought from them off of ebay (3vze hi-pro) and got suckered because the Ebay reviews look great(Ebay only allows for 60 days to get your review in- my headgasket failed at 6,000 miles)... I was without my truck for a year and a half because once they have your money- they ignore you...

Anyway,
My 2 cents worth...
thanks,
Jimmy
