New 2010 Tacoma - question

New 2010 Tacoma - question-image.jpeg

I love my new yota! I'm a noob for sure, so I just wanted to ask for a little help. I think the truck would look better if the front was higher and matched the back, and then possibly put 1 size bigger tires on it. right now it has 265-75-16. Whats the best way to get the front end up a bit higher? I know you can crank the torsion bars up but I heard thats not the best for the truck, but like I said im new to this so im not sure what the best route is. Going to wear these tires out first then look to raise front and upgrade to a bigger tire just for looks mainly! Other then this I prob wont do much else to the truck, maybe running boards/brush guard.

Thanks

You don't have torsion bars, you have coil over's (shock and spring in one). Torsion bars were only on the 86-95 4runner/trucks...

To do a cheap front end lift on that thing, just buy a coil over spacer and put it on top of the coil over. Call up Toytec...they'll take care of you.

If you increase tire size, just go up by one size.

Im not necessarily looking for the cheapest route. I know cheapest isnt always the best way to go, so whatever is best for truck but may be a little higher is fine by me.

No more suggestions from other folks, so Ill check on coil over spacers, shouldnt need much. Any recommendations on what brand to get? This doesn't look hard, but im no mechanic, but I think i can manage a small project like this. Is the spacer my only option on this, or is there something else I can do that's better for the truck? thanks

The other option is to get a whole new coil over from a company like Sawy-a-way, Icon, OME, etc. This ups the price level a lot, but they make the front suspension more robust.

Toytec has quality stuff, don't over look them . It's the spacer it self is relatively cheap, from anyone. After all...it's just a spacer.

For your tires, here's what it looks like with 17'' wheels, 265/70/17's with no lift. Gives you an idea of how things will look with this size and a slight lift, or level.

That truck looks good! I'm just now getting around to doing this, but I found a leveling kit off toytec. http://www.suspensionconnection.com/.../52910tac.html

Snobdds you mentioned only go up 1 tire size. that would be a 275/75/16. the info on the leveling kit said you can go to 31x10.5. I'm not doubting what you said one bit, but just want to know exactly what size I should go with. I'm going to be getting some bridgestone ATs, some family members work for firestone and get a hellacious discount and overall I loved the old set I had on my chevy.
