pulled the 10000k HID bulbs out and put 6000k in, and also put 6000k HID's in the fog lights too

Sold some random stuff I had sitting around on eBay and have the funds to buy a 4th TX Pro wheel now, just waiting on word back that they're in stock and I'll probably have it on order before the weekend! Pretty stoked about getting them on, and new tires not too long after that

As long as everything shows up before Friday, it's also getting a 2.5" front 2" rear lift as well. Don't really need it with the tires, but I think the stance will be nice when it's all said and done

AND just ordered a complete CB setup. Will make use of it because I plan on hitting the local trails soon with the new meats; going put that locker to use finally!

Well I am gonna ask... what tires are those. I dont recognize the tread pattern. What size are they?

I love what you did with the truck so far. I am jealous of this whole build and cant wait to be out of school and have my supra done so I can start working on my 4runner.

You have done a lot of stuff and its the fine details that makes a vehicle special or unique. You remind me of a friend who works as a wrecking yard junkie (puller) but you by far have better taste in vehicles. He still drives a CRX non-turbo with really bad looking aftermarket rims.

They WERE suppose to be getting installed today actually, but my 4th wheel hasn't shown up yet... so maybe next weekend.

Yeah I do love my job Appreciate the comments!

Got a CB installed today!

Even left me with enough room to throw all my junk back in there, including my Ka-Bar

Found a convenient spot for an external speaker since the radio itself is in the center console and would be a little hard to hear. Works out perfect; pretty much faces right at me directly in front of my right knee.

And just like with the center console, still plenty of room to make use of that little cubby hole and stuff more junk in it

And, just because I could, external PA hooked to it, mainly just for giggles, lol

Works pretty good; can actually pick up a lot of chatter just sitting in my drive way, lol. Need to tune it with the SWR meter still though. Have the meter, but left the jumper cable for it at work Friday on accident

Awesome job. I should have known those tires. I was looking at them before buying my Goodyear duratracs.

IAmSuperBleeder - 2006 Tacoma Prerunner - build/mod thread-gy_wranglerdt_ci2_l.jpg

I am always looking at projects and my friend wants to do a 1994 toyota p/u TDI build using a late model PD diesel from the 2003-2006 Golf/Jetta/Beetle. HPA motorsports says with a simple performance flash to the ECU it rates 165 crank HP and 265 ftlbs of torque. He wants to mate that up to the 5 speed auto and duel transfer cases.....

All I gotta say.... bring the money honey lol

How I wish I worked in a wrecking yard like you... or at least owned a tow truck so I could get good deals on Jetta motors and upgrade parts.

Turned a few wrenches on her today

Installed some 2 1/2" spacers in the front and AAL's in the rear; netted about a 2 1/4" all the way around.

Don't mind the rear lift blocks in the photo... useless paperweights

Can hardly wait until the new rubber goes on next weekend!

Also have another project I may attempt soon Found this Mustang hood scoop and am thinking about color matching it and bolting it down on the hood of the Tacoma! Buddy at work PhotoShopped it and color matched it after laying it on the hood and taking a picture.

I actually kinda like the scoop. What if it were a couple more inches forward?

Was the double din radio exspensive? You like the quality etc?

I kind of prefer it set further back like that; that's one of my gripes about the scoop on the Sport models, is that it's too far forward. The other is that just too "roundish" looking I've always like the general shape of the scoops on the Mustangs with they're slightly sharper angles. But the edges are still rounded enough so it at least seems to fit the body lines of the Tacoma.

The radio is a Pioneer X930BT, which has been superseded by the X940BT now (I'm actually running the X940BT firmware on mine; that's about the only difference between the two; the hardware is almost identical). The X940BT is running about $550 on Crutchfield right now. They're a little pricey, but there's definitely more expensive options out there, lol. But this one does just about everything I need it to do. I've always been a huge fan of Pioneer radios; their build quality is amazing and the sound output is great, thus why I've had 3 different Pioneers in this truck so far; a single din (who's model # I forget), the first double din (a D3), and now this double din (X930BT). I had a Kenwood single din in my work truck that I just swapped out for a Pioneer single din last week, one of the cheaper models at that; the sound quality and clarity change was instantly noticeable!

I just bought an 06 prerunner last week (nonTRD) and want the E locker with the stock button, if I found a donor vehicle how much/ what would be involved with the installation (I'm also in FL)

The entire axle will go right in place of the non locker one, that much is a direct swap. The wiring for the OEM button should already be there in the dash, all you have to do is get in there and I think it's just taped up. I wasn't able to get the 4wd ECU or wiring harness from the diff to the cab off the donor vehicle so I had to make my own wiring harness and use a relay, which is fine by me because I have complete control over the locker. Hardest part about now using the 4wd ECU or factory wiring is making the stock locker engaged light in the cluster come on; that took a bit of digging in the wiring diagrams to find the correct wire in the plug going into the cluster.

So you took yours from a 4wd TRD? Would it be easier
To take one from a prerunner TRD with the locking diff

No mine just came from a 2wd PreRunner TRD. If it has a factory locker, it has the 4wd control box, even if it's just a 2wd. The box controls both the transfer case and the locker on a 4wd, but just the locker on a 2wd. Drop the glove box and it's on the right inside the dash. Obviously if you don't have 4wd or a locker, there will be just an unused plug taped up there. If I'm not mistaken, there's two plugs on the box. The plug that's already in the truck goes back to the body control module to communicate with the rest of the truck like the button on the dash and the indicator light in the cluster, as well as taking in information like what gear you're in and what speed the truck is moving. The other plug is what goes back to the locker itself; that's what has to be pulled if you're not making your own harness.
