Post TacoTacoma96's 1996 Toyota Tacoma Build-Up Thread

I finally decided to do a thread on my 96 Tacoma. got this truck when I was sixteen and loved it from day one. Here is what I done so far:
AEM Air Intake
Taylor Throttle body spacer
E3 Spark Plugs
Jegs Rims 15x7 3.75 Backspacing (Traded)
Cooper AT3s 30x9.50 (Traded)
Delta tool box
Dupicolor Bed Armour
Stock Converter with Flowmaster single in/dual out muffler
About a 1.5 Lift with hand-made leaf springs and spacers
Here's the oldest pic I still got of my truck

Here's a video of me and a couple of buddies going off-Roading back in 2011.
Not really a lot but we got another trip planned in a few weeks.

They are 16s and I like the look. I'm gonna take my dad's old tires,265/75-16s and put them on for now. thy are a little slick but they'll work. Gonna buy new tires next month. So i'm gonna put the black rims and tires on my 94 pickup. when I put them on i'll show the pics.

The tires are worn out but ill get some new ones in a few weeks.
But that not the end of the story. Well my dad and me put them on and we had a small lug wrench. He Tightened them (Found out later it was the wrong type of lug nuts). and I was going down the road and felt a thud and when I looked Back

Yep, I pulled over and thankfully I was going into a parking when it went. The drum never hit the ground and the wheel studs were a little scraped but no problems. A local (in another Taco of course) stopped and gave me a jack to use I was on my way again. The only bad thing is that I was late for my college class. A very eventful day but a memorable one. lol.

As for the suspension I upgraded to Bilstein shocks all around.

Lightbulb We Continue...

Well I've decided to get back to my roots and continue on with ol' Red. Nothing much done so far but now I got some new Ideas and inspriation. Well it all started when a friend at school said he was selling his '89 4Runner with a blown 22re stroker motor.

That's when it hit me, I'll base my build on the look of a first gen 4runner. So the new revamped ideas are as follows:
  • Bestop Topper (already ordered)
  • Some Black 16x7 Steelies
  • ARB Bumper
  • New OEM style leaf springs with shakle lift
  • OME coils for the front
  • Maybe Tundra brake upgrade
  • Lc engineering high torque flywheel and pro clutch kit
The reason I didn't jump on the offer was because already have 3 trucks and a car.
Already orderd the bestop topper for the bed. It was between this and the Softopper and the bestop won because I found a deal online. The next items on my list is the clutch and flywheel. Throw-out bearing has been making noise for some time and is time to change it. Might as well get the best of the best.. Can't wait to get started.

Got my OME coils today!. Also got some good news, Gonna get my ARB bumper installed at the 4WheelParts store next weekend. After that I'll start work on the suspension. My goal is the same height but a little softer because the spacers are pretty stiff and the leaf springs are just some handmade ones which are really stiff.
