Kornhusker: I still have the SAS thread, but since the "SAS" was completed, I simply asked that we revert any future "general" truck build conversation to my existing build thread.

Awesome build! I'm in Austin too and make it out to Hidden Falls pretty often (I was out there this past weekend). Hopefully we'll cross paths out there sometime. I'm not nearly as built up as you, but my buddies I go out there with have some real big rigs.

Holy old thread. Does this truck still exist? I've spent all evening yesterday, and the morning commute this morning, catching up on this thread when I noticed your pics from the SETO in 2013. I know a couple of those other trucks in the pic and it makes me wonder if you were at any of the SETTORA rides in Harlan KY? Seems like I remember there being 2 green, regular cabs there at the same time.

Updates? Yeah, I still own the truck and daily drive it.
It just rolled over 240K miles.
Not a whole lot of progress made in the past couple years. I've spent more money on guns/ ammo than I care to admit.
I've replaced the front fenders. Recently did another clutch. Patched/ reinforced a cracked frame near the front. Have a detroit locker for the rear waiting to go in to replace the welded carrier. Fixed/ redid the front shackle angle. Re-located the battery to the passenger side fender well. And a few other odds/ ends.
Progress has slowed mainly due to adult duties starting to take up most of my priorities. In March of 2016 I was promoted from part time Service Tech to Full Time Assistant Manager at Discount Tire. I work a lot, and rarely have a Saturday off. Just recently my fiancé and I found out that we're expecting a baby girl in June of this year.
As for the truck, I'll try and start where I think we left off.. Shortly after the SAS I went to Moab back in late 2014..
It went pretty well. Truck worked great. Had to add a power steering cooler at camp one day because the PS was overheating and leaking everywhere..
Truck died on the way back near Lubbock. About 300/ 1200 miles remaining it appeared like there was an alternator failure. I swapped over to my spare, but still no charging. Had a friend come from Austin and trailer me home. It ended up being a faulty connection at the charge signal plug on the fuse box
K2 a few months later..
More K2 a couple month after that (Early 2015)
Threw the rear shaft on that line^^
Almost made it into a Mountain Dew "Dew Shine" Commercial with a buddy of mine..
Padre Island Nation Sea Shore (July 2015 Birthday trip)
Cut off and Re-did the shackle mounts for the front.. The shackles are closer to 45* at ride height. A tad bit lower ride height.
K2 February or march 2016
Front fenders.. Summer 16..
Clutch.. November 16.. This was a 1200# trans jack from Northern tool that was about 2" too short so we deflated the front tires.
Recently put on some new wheels to drop some weight from the old steelies. They weighed 41 #'s each. These weigh 24 #'s. They are Pro-Comp Proxy Series 45 17x9 -6 offset. Clear the Tacoma brakes really well
Me and some friends went to Wolf Caves on New Years Eve. Wolf Caves is a new park that is directly on the other side of K2.
Here is a short video..
I know I'm missing a lot. Sorry for the absence. I will try and check up more frequently. Any questions feel free to ask.

Haha, never thought of it that way. I honestly think it's the lack of seat time and the tall truck. But you're probably right.
Thank you, btw. I still feel like just a kid myself.
No updates on the truck, but I did actually buy myself a decent little 99 Camry just yesterday. I needed a commuter and a baby hauler. This one was the right price. $1300
V6 auto XLE, 165k. Runs and drives great. Lots of power. Shifts well.
Current issues: oil leak, probably rear main. Desperately needs rear struts. Paint sucks. Typical Toyota clear coat. Can't change vent selection on AC control.
Just put tires on it today ($300 w/ my employee discount). Old ones were horrible.
Re oil leak: I may pull the engine and do the TB/ water pump at the same time. It's not a horrible leak but I of course want it to stop.
