GPS says the speedo reads about 4% slower than actual speed. Not too bad. With the 33s and 4.10s it was about 8% and I'm already used to compensating for that.

Still leaning towards a Savage rear bumper with driver's side swing out tire carrier.
Why driver's? Since it's offset I *think* I tend to use the passenger side of the rear window for seeing and it's offset. Personally I think I'd prefer the look of the tire being to the right side than the left, I'm trying to think practically.
Guess I'd better spend some time actually paying attention to which side of the rear window I most look out of it. I'll also have to check some of the local ones out in person, there's a mo4wd meeting next week, will have to remember to attend and hope some show up.
Got to ask: Hope you are far enough from the Ferguson area as to not be affected?

Actually drove through there on my way home from a hike the afternoon of the day it started but it was all quiet then. Now it's kind of crazy in the dark hours, according to the news. There's so many good people there, too bad there are the few that are taking advantage of a sad situation. We're 20 miles away.

The bad is making the news here, but I've seen pictures online of the good people trying to peacefully protect others property from the looters, cleaning the streets in the morning, serving up food and water, etc. The whole incident is truly saddening to me.
Just been getting caught up on your thread. The pictures you took on your trip were great. I like seeing all of the work you have done to your runner and then getting to use it while there. Looks like a great time you had.
We have spiders bad this year as well. More then usual. Our garden started out the best it ever has and seems like alot of squash and cucumber got hit with bug that attacked the roots. We got watermelon coming on and hoping they big enough before the frost gets here.

My daughter had a tunnel Weaver caught up under the seats but made an absolute nightmare and was so hard to kill. You clear away the webs and drop a bomb in there and 6 days later it was like a huge forest of webs everywhere again. This also got me thinking, it must have something to eat if it keeps laying up webs and spiders poisonous. So we pulled the carpet and clean it really well cleaned the upholstery and shop vac under the seats after removing them and it was no more to be found

Thanks, we had a great time and wheeling was lots of fun! We've been lucky with no vine borers, just those evil squash bugs. I have had no luck with watermelons at all, lucky you.

Yikes! So glad my guys are (mostly) keeping to themselves! Great Chef, now you've got me wondering what do my little friends eat? All I know is it's not people. How's that re-bushinged truck of your feeling these days?

Instead of working on Toyota's, I'm working on a Honda this weekend.....a Honda 4-stroke lawn mower. Silly thing after 14 years decided to sling oil at me Friday....the oil seal at the flywheel failed. Hope all is good down/over your way.
At least mowers are generally smaller and easier to maneuver! Seals that only last 14 years, you can tell it's not a Toyota.
We've had a hot week that I can't complain about (predicted heat index for today 110) since this summer's been so mild. Haven't done much really, kinda in between funds mostly. Did Operation Clean Stream yesterday. Hot, dirty, sweaty, sometimes gross (found huge underpants), fun. Everything's good here, okra is at least 8' tall now.
True on easier to maneuver. It quite easy to work on....just a bit fiddly figuring out where the hidden bolts are even with a grass free chassis.

Those clean-up days can be so icky Along with the gross stuff, I once found a $20 bill covered by a blown tire casing.
Dang! Nice find! Best I got was a My Little Pony Seahorse in light blue with part of its nose chewed off. Found a piston, couple of spark plugs, leaf spring, lots of metal and glass and some plastic.
The corn was excellent this year. All that's left is the cobs that aren't pretty enough for straight eating. Still using the kernels for corn bread, stews, stuff like that.
