hi i have a 98 tacoma x-cab 2.7 5-speed 4x4

i think the previous owner put a transfer case out of a automatic in to my 5-speed

so my first question is this even possible??

my second where are the serial number on the transfer case?

any help would be awesome

I think you can put a manual hub or ADD t/case on any trans but I am not positive. I replaced the trans in my 4Runner and I think the main difference was the ADD t/case has some electrical wiring and the manual hub obviously doesn't.
