Wrecked my Tacoma. Retro fit the diff locker?
I just wrecked my Tacoma recently. I guess it is going to be totalled. They said I can buy it back for $1800. It is actually in really good shape all things considered. Starts and drives. Just the grille, hood, front passenger quarter panel and airbox. It's a 98 ext. cab with 100k. I wonder if the rear diff can retro fit onto my wifes 97 runner? Taco had the locker and her runner does not. I think I want to part out the rest of the truck. Do you think it's worth doing? Wonder what the transfer case is worth for example...

Completely agreeing with the above. $1800 is worth it, but what did you do to it? If the drivetrain is intact and frame relatively straight keep it. You could lock the front end and wheel it with little worry. No need for armor when it already has the scars.
BTW that rear axle is leaf sprung, and the 4Runner has coils, plus I *think* the axle is a couple inches wider than the 4Runner width.
