Check for fuel and spark.....then check under the timing cover to ensure the cams are turning.

Timing belt is fine....I have the feeling that it's fuel related.
Whats the best way to check for fuel? Could the filter be the problem?
I'm kinda clueless on how to check the fuel on an EFI engine!
Thanks

Which fuses do I check? There's one under the hood labeled EFI and a relay labeled EFI.....The fuse is fine and I have no way to check the relay.
Are there any other fuses to check?
Thanks

Here is someone who went thorugh the same thing but I don't know if it ever did get resolved.
I would bet you likely had the same problem.

Do those symptoms sound similar?
I would try to check the fuel filter and see if there is any fuel in the lines. There are fuse panels inside the truck (near driver's kick panel) and under the hood. You should inspect them all to be sure there are none that are burnt. The EFI is the major one but there may be others which could prevent starting (I don't remember them all offhand).

Now I'm really confused........I really didn't want to mess with the fuel pump today. I pulled almost every fuse there was to check them out. I crawled under to see how much of a PITA it was gonna be to change the fuel filter and shot it with some PB blaster...then I tried to start it one last time before I went to the auto parts store and low and belhold.....it started!
It took some cranking but it finally fired up. I shut it off and restarted it about 15 times....fires right up now.
Not sure why it started???? Im gonna change the fuel filter today...It's original with 116k......Maybe a bad connection?
I really wish I knew what was wrong.....cuz everytime I get in it, I'm gonna have that "uncomfortable wonder" if it's gonna start feeling!

Check the big 80A fusable link in your fuse box...if that one's blown then it won't turn over. But, if that one is the culprit, you have a huge short somewhere in your system.

If it does happen again, try putting your foot to the floor on the gas pedal and starting it. Just might do the trick, to get you going. I had a VW that had to start that way until I replaced the cold start injector (not saying that is what your problem is, but it worked).
