Considering both of these upgrades, but i want the best bang for the buck since i am not a hardcore offroader yet...Considering Warn M8000 (not sure on mounting options yet, leaning towards tray or multimount) for 499 delivered. Good price/value? The rear locker is a must in my mind, but i don't want to dump a ton of cash into this...what is the best option here in the $250 price range?

The locker will get you a LOT more places...the winch would just be able to drag you there.

Considering you will need a bumper to mount the winch you will be spending probably around $1000+ for a good winch and bumper.

Drop the money now and get a good rear locker...and you will need to spend more than $250 to do that as any cheap locker in $$$ is just that...cheap.

You can do an e-locker swap pretty easily depending on your year model or get an ARB, both are selectable lockers and do not affect street drivability, the ones under $250 will.

I think the only other options for the rear are lock-right, truetrac, or spool/welded. Aussie makes one for the front, similar to the lockright. The selectable lockers give absolute traction when you want it, and all the daily driveability that you need. Other options are compromises. Truetrac(limited slip) will be unnoticeable on the road, but not as good as a full locker offroad. Lock-right will hook up better offroad, but it can be annoying to drive on road.

Ok guys... I will look into E locker. Prices and best vendors for this? Salvage a viable option?

You can do an e-locker retrofit. I am currently doing one and got the locker, locker motor, locker ecu, switch, and most of the wiring for $450 from a junkyard. With other parts (new axle seals, gaskets, gear oil) this is going to cost me about $550 total. Way cheaper than an ARB + installation

For sure do the locker first, and again do the selectable. I have had ARB and eLocker. I like the ARB for its rapid engagement, but like the eLocker because it came from the factory. If I were adding a locker it would be an ARB, IMO easier and faster.
