Will this wire scheme work?

This is sort of a re-post but I needed to change the title. Looking to install a push-start button in my truck to act as a hidden "kill switch". I have a before diagram (black and white) and the wire scheme I want to set up. I want the starter on the ignition switch to be disabled and have the button only start my 2000 Tacoma when the key is turned to the on position. If any electricians could chime in on this I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

I just don't follow that picture too well, but then again it's late and i've got an empty 6 pack in front of me. I do know this 12 volt world quit well though. It seems you're looking to basically make it so you need both the key and knowledge of this switch to start the vehicle? Okay you already know the whole key start mechanism is like a 3 part switch, 2 regulars and one momentary (start function). You can basically make that into a swith that only has 2 regular positions, and "move" that momentary switch/start function to a new spot. Since you want that to be the new starter switch (from what I gather) you do want to cut the old one. You basically need some 12 volt juice to let this momentary button tell the boss (starter), hey, let's do this. All in all..... I think it should work. I'd see what they are using as far as wire size and beat it by 1... (if they use 18 you use 16...)... Looks good to me!

I personally would use a standard bosch relay with your button. Connect terminal 85 to a sufficient ground. Terminal 86 to one side of your button with the remaining side of button to Ign. source. Terminal 87 to main power feed into Ign switch and terminal 30 to your starter wire which you would cut at the switch. The reason for this is so that there is not too much amperage being pulled through any leg of the ignition switch. It is a load reduction setup. I wish i had a diagram for you. Sorry.
