For the AVN-6620, the unit was too long to fit correctly. It would fit in there, but the wires were pressed against the HVAC ducting, and no room for the cooling fan to pull sufficient air flow. I had to space it out about 1/4 inch. This caused interference with the opening in the console, so had to pull out the trusty dremel, and enlarge the opening a bit. THEN, when the face folds down, it hits the shift lever if it is in park.
However, this is all nothing for the quality of Eclipse.
**edit** forgot that most of the newer model Eclipse Navi units accept the factory Toyota plugs, so no wire harness is needed!

^^I'm not sure about their newer cd decks, but the AVN Models appear to all Illuminate green. The last style before they went to the mainstream design(around 2004-2005ish) allowed you to change the illumination to green or red.
Nakamichi are very nice decks too. I love the plain simple design with great SQ. Makes me a little sad that Eclipse strayed away from this.

I agree that Kenwood makes a great product, but I believe that Pioneer is a better deal. I got Pioneer's top of the line Premier NAV unit for $500. The comparable Kenwoods were all $800 or more. So that's what sold me on it. As for the bypass, it takes all of 60 seconds longer to do it on the Pioneer. Backup camera works great BTW

I have the AVIC-F90BT. I just made my own startup screen and changed it in the splash screen menu. I just hooked my power antenna wire up like it's supposed to be. My unit has an option to either put it up when it has power or to only use it when the radio is selected. Not sure about the unit you got though.

Don't hate the player, hate the game. Bill that USA-SPEC Ipod adapter had to go, it worked alright 1/2 the time and not at all the rest. I will be able to watch the rear facing baby day/night on my monitor (mom likes that feature). It was $399 from http://www.artofsale.net/, which is a steel I might add.

Hey now don't blame it on me to your wife! I don't want to be on her list, those Bama girls can hold a grudge. The install is straight forward.
1. Pull trim bezel
2. Remove 4 screws on radio (then remove brackets from old HU)
3. Remove 2 screws from HU amp.
4. Splice best buy or other purchased HU wiring harness.
5. Splice in the relay to bypass to circumnavigate video feature.
6. Run ALL video out and in lines you will need.
7. Plug everything in and do a test start up b4 you fully install it.
8. Check and triple check your elec. connections.
9. Install Hu and bolt it up, doing a bezel test fit.
10. Turn the HU on, and tilt the screen all the way back then install bezel.
11. Get your wife and show her how cool you are!
12. Yeah
Yea yea it's a 12 step program.

The HU install itself should be easy enough...I've ripped my dash apart at least a dozen times before
As far as the ipod cable, where is everyone routing that to? I've thought about routing it up thru the small cubby hole next to the e-brake lever...as I don't use that space much anyway. Just drill a hole in the back of it and route the cable thru it.
And yes Aaron, I will tell my wife it's all your fault.
