Will 2nd Gen Toyota roof rack fit a 3rd Gen?

Will a 2nd Gen Toyota roof rack fit a 3rd Gen?
Has anyone tried this?
I want to buy a Surco Safari cage and will need the Toyota rack. I can only find a 2nd gen roof rack setup available at a junkyard and am not sure if will fit on my 2000 runner. I don't want to have to buy the 200.00 setup from the dealer if I don't have too. I can't seem to find a 2nd gen runner to pull up beside and compare the mounts.

I think it would not fit the 3rd Gen. Just call the dealer and they should able to tell you.
