Unhappy Wierd Lights... suggestions anyone???

Ok guys, I just installed a K&N FIPK (Cold Air Intake) on my Taco. Now that everything is put together my truck wont start. instead whenever I open the door it gives me the warning beeps and all of the dash lights, passangerside front and driverside rear turn signals all flash. I didnt mess with any of the electrical except disconecting the battery like you are suposed to do, and the mass airflow connections so you can work with the air boxes.
Has this happened to anyone? or does anyone have any ideas? thanks

I have an FIPK in my '99 4runner and have not had similar issues. Good luck in figuring this out. I'm sure someone with more info will chime in.

ok guys. good try. I know it isnt the anti-theft because my truck doesnt have one. and I took your suggestion and checked out the battery terminals. they're fine. this isnt your run-of-the mill electrical problem. :pat:

ditto for my 02. look around for a disconnected/broken wire, some of those small gauge wires can break easily when mishandled.

Take the vin and call or check with you local dealer, the only reason for the lights to flash on and off and the beeps etc is that you have the anti-theift system on your trk....by disconnecting the battry you reset it and now you need the remote to reset....is this a new or used trk? also look all under the dash etc to see if you can find the valet switch.......on certain toyotas the factory alarm can be disabled by inserting the key and turning it to the on position then flipping the valet switch, then starting the trk... I know you say you don't have an alarm ....but your symtoms are that of a trk with the factory ......good luck......
