Who here has a desert dune 4Runner and has used their touch-up paint?
Does your touch-up paint for the body match if you've used it? I tried to use it and it's much darker, and it the right paint code, 181.

has anyone else used desert dune touch up paint? i'm have a bottle of 1A5, and the last time i used it, it was much darker than the rest of my truck.

It's usually because the clearcoat surface is micro-scratched and the touchup is just the color coat (ie touchup paint has no depth to it). Someone please correct me if I am wrong on this.

the side door of my 4runer got shot with a BB gun and chiped the paint off about the side of a quarter. i got the touch up paint, which it covered the bare metal but now there is a darker spot there. Im guessing that just because mine is a 96 the paint has faded too much to match.

My dealer told me there are 3 different shades of desert dune, and he had to use my VIN to find out which bottle I needed. But with mine, it looks perfect! I'll get the code if you guys need it, but you probably have the wrong bottle.
