When its HOT outside.. Power Door Locks Dont Work.. help!

FYI: This is on a 1999 4Runner SR5, 5VZ-FE

So, this has been happening for the last few summers.. I live in Las Vegas, and as we all know it gets awful hot out here. When my truck is parked outside for a short while, and the sun heats everything up, my power door locks stop working. After my A/C runs for a while and my truck cools off, about 15 minutes, they start working just fine again.

When the problem happens, I'll have to unlock my truck with my key.

Both keyless remote, and power lock button on the door won't unlock doors.

I can hear the relay, or actuator, or whatever it is, making noise like its trying to unlock the door, but the actual unlock and/or lock process will not happen.

Sometimes it will work half-assed.. IE; the driver and rear passenger door will unlock or lock, but the other's wont... or sometimes its just the front passenger door that will work.. its really weird.

When i use the key to unlock the drivers door.. it will unlock that door, and ONLY that door.. when I turn the key for a second time, where all the other doors should unlock themselves, nothing happens, but i can hear the noise from the actuator or whatever it is behind the doors.

Everything else works fine, its just the door locks that act up.. and ONLY when my truck gets hot from being parked in the sun.

Anyone have this problem and happen to find a solution??

I have the same problem with my '99 SR5 too. No solution yet either.

A buddy who installs remote starts/alarms ran into one on a '97. He reported later that it was a bad control unit.

My buddy IBallEngineer believes it is tired actuator motors.

He's probably right.
