For a couple monthes now i have been talking to the owner of an 86 4runner with a turbo and a SAS, the truck is in ok shape. He wants $4000 for it. For me to even be able to buy this thing i will have to sell my truck. So heres the list of what it has and what it needs.. so please let me know if this truck is worth it.

What it has:
All Pro 5 inch SAS
2 in body lift
Marlin Cross Over steering
rear chevy leaf spring conversion with 4 inch (lift blocks )
TURBO charged 22-ret with 1800 miles after a rebuild
worn out 35's or maybe some 40% tread 33's
digital dash (rare)
altimiter(very rare)

What it needs:
adjustable shocks to make it daily driveable and trailable
steering stabilizer (he says its all over the place on the road)
gears
front driveshaft
new tailgate ( he might throw one in that a friend has)
sway bars (for safety on the highway)
will eventually need new windsheild (current one has a hairline crack thats about 1ft long on passenger side)
tires

lockers
stereo
bumpers
fender flares


Now for all that this thing needs compared to what it has is it realy worth 4 grand and is it road worthy without upgrades? or am i just disillusioned by the awe of the turbo and the SAS

offer him 2500-3000 and see what happens
and I'm pretty sure the digital dash was standard on turbo models, and most all SR5 runners had the altimeter

sounds fairly reasonable, but i bet he takes $3000-3500 for it.

well im going to go and take a look at it on sunday... so we'll see what the guy has to say about it.
