What would you pay? 1999 Taco 4wd
Here is the truck 1999 Tacoma 4cyl 5spd 4wd 190,000 miles clean title comes with 3 inch lift not installed yet. Truck needs shocks, ball joints, and tires. Truck has minor body damage to front bumper and rear needs to be replaced. Interior seats have one 4inch tear that has been repaired (not professionally). Engine is strong and 4wd works flawlessly. KBB is $3664 yet I have searched nation wide and found everything from 3000 dollar, 250,000 mile, salvaged titled, dented and tore up trucks to clean original 130000 mile trucks up to 8000. Even some battered and bruised and just plain ugly $5000 trucks. Pictures are posted below. Truck was dirty I was just at my friends house that told me about the truck and decided to take a look. Paint cleans up and shines with typical small paint chips. So what would you pay?

$500.00 you asked I said !!This is worth whatever someone is willing to pay
If you can do all the neglected maintenance and needed repairs.
This could easy be another $2000.00 just in parts.
Need to pay labor $$$
Plus how long till your doing frame repairs ??
Then I like my 3.4 engines just a personal thing.
These vehicles have a very regional market so it is supply and demand.

What are they asking for it?
Price will mostly depend on where you live. They are worth different amounts in different areas of the country. With the work it needs, but if everything else is in good condition like you say, it would probably sell for $4-5,000 out in the intermountain west, and probably west coast.
They go for $7-9,000 around here in really good condition, high miles or not. But that thing needs some work.
My concern with that truck is that it seems to not have been taken care of. I mean they didn't even clean it to try to sell it??
The most important things with these trucks is how well they've been maintained. Sounds like this one has been beat on and neglected. But that's just my impression. Obviously I can only say so much based on what you know about it.

Spend the $8,000-10,000 for a low K 3.4L and a replaced frame like Wy suggests, it is nice to own a vehicle that you only open the hood to change oil or top up washer fluid.

No that's a good price. I agree.
When I bought my truck I immediately put over $1,000 worth of parts into it, just so I knew everything was good.
Those are some pretty cheap shocks you're looking at putting on it...but whatever works for you.
If you think the engine, tranny, clutch and axles are in good shape, then I'd say that's a good deal if it's the truck you want.
