what tranny do I have?

I was looking on amazon.com for an oxygen sensor for my
4 runner 1996 SR5 3.4 V6 4x4 212K km (132K miles) and it's asking me what transmission does it have. I have no idea, I mean I know it's automatic, not manual.

Also, I wonder which ones are better - Denso or NGK? I hear those 2 brands are preferred.

Now the background. Check engine light came on few months ago.
The truck was driving more or less as usual. I took it to my mechanic.
He told me that the truck doesn't have obdii connector and tried to short the diagnostic terminal that make the check engine light blink, but that didn't work. He even showed me in the service manual that he was doing it right.
He said I can take the car to the dealer and they can get the codes directly from the computer, but if everything is more or less OK, then I shouldn't bother.

I started doing some research again on that and it seems my truck should have the obdii connector. I think I can see it next to the gas pedal.
I will have to pass emission test in May (Ontario, Canada) and I'd rather take care of it now. Also, I hear if it's O2 sensor, catalytic converter may go faster and there could be engine build up... I plan to drive the truck into the ground, so it's important for me to keep it in decent shape.
It could be winter and that I am driving mostly in the city, but seems the gas consumption went up...

O2 senors are very very tricky parts. I'd go to a Toyota dealer, give your VIN # to parts dept., they can pull the EXACT part# out of the computer. That's the only way to know for sure. Get the part #, and price it out via different sources.

another place to check is:
