I'm getting ready to replace the CVs on both sides but I can't find any information on what size puller or separator I'll need. Anyone know?

just need a 3 foot pry bar to but on the cv's lip and the diff mounts to pop it out of the diff but on the hub u will need to remove the dist cover and i believe its a 35mm socket to unscrew the nut off of the cv and then it will just come out

In addition to the tools noted in the above post, you'll need a quart of gear oil (some will come out when you remove the cv) in the 75W-90 flavor and a tube of blue locktite for the lower ball joint bolts (4 of em-torque is 82ft #'s)

Also, why are you replacing the cv's? Toyota cv's are the best out there. If all that's wrong is a busted boot then go get a boot kit from the dealer and just replace the boot.

Per the manual, you have to remove the tie-rod end and the lower ball joint. I was referring the puller/separator for that. Should have been more clear in my original post. No matter, the jobs already done.

I replaced them because the boots have been MASSIVELY torn for over a year (previous owner) and they are making some pretty nasty noises.

that's bs i can remove a cv in 5mins... undo the big nut on the cv then the 4 lower bj bolts ... tap the end of the cv with a rubber mallet take a pry bar at the other end of the cv and pry on it and it pops right out
