What kind of gas mileage would i get?

Would gas mileage would i get if i had an 88 4runner with the 22re motor if i ran a 6 inch lift and 35s? What about if i ran 33s? Also Same question but with the 22R motor. THANKS A LOT GUYS!

Okay, first off there aren't any 88s with the 22r.

With the 22re your least worry will be mileage - your big worry will be getting run over. Old ladies with walkers will beat you red light to red light. The 22RE is a great motor, but it has no surplus of power - it's barely adequate. I put my 33s on a month or two before I changed the gears. With 33s, I could not even use 5th gear on level ground, it would just slow down... 4th would barely do 65. Around town it was okay, but the taller gears really suffered. It was awful.

Change your gears. Put it on the Must Do list. With 4.88s/33s or 5.29/35s your mileage will be about the same as stock.

Accually when i was shopping for a truck a while back, I found an 88 (it was a truck) with a 22r....

There was a guy on here that was running 33", 4.88's, and he was getting like 15mpg, but it was a extended cab pickup, and he had a winch, arb, etc For you id guess around... 16-17mpg

why build a big bad ass rig like that and worry about gas mileage?i suggest you build a gas hog and buy something else for mpg.my 3 yoty's average 10 mpg one is still stone stock.it gets 16 down hill with a stout tail wind!

The last year of the 22r 4Runner is supposed to be 84, but there were some 85s.
The last year of the 22r period was 87, for pickups. Wouldn't surprize me if a few didn't make it into 88s.
