Hello all,

I've been watching other topics related and some internet shops but I'm not sure.

I'm going to put an Aussie in the front of my 4Runner.

I have ADD and I want to put manual hubs and I've been thinking about Superwinch ones.

In the Superwinch page says "Spindle nuts must be changed when replacing automatic hubs with manual hubs (dealer item)".

So I supose I must buy that spindle nuts in the Toyota dealer, I am right?

Somebody knows the Toyota part #? I think in the Toyota dealer won't have any idea...

hey blizzard!

when i changed mine over, it was simple, unbolt the add hub flange, make sure you have enough grease (too much and things will be kind of stiff), line up the manual locking hub, slide it into place (new gaskets) install cone washers, nuts etc, torque to spec 23 ft/lbs on hub body, 7 ft/lbs for cap and youre done. now that is for a cdn runner, i think yours is probably a hilux surf and could be a bit different. im sure someone will post if there are any differences.

Get a pair of toy manual hubs used. They are extremely eazy to install (bolt on) and are fairly inexpenssive. (about $50usd). Aftermarket hubs are like $150 and require adaptors or install kits...

i used Warn hubs on my 92 ADD, no spindle nut involved.

can one pick up the toyota manual hubs at any special place? or just check the local wrecking yard? i'd like to do this sometime soon, too.

guess i can keep my eye on the forsale forum.

they're on ebay all the time.

automatic hubs and ADD are different animals. unless there is something different with spanish model trucks, you don't need anything special to switch over to manual hubs. definitely stick with the oem AISIN toyota hubs. ebay, the wrecking yards and forum members are the best places to look.

Look for "All Toyota Wrecking" up on highway 410 between Enumclaw & Buckley.
That is where Jim (mytruck) got his Aisins for his '89 truck.

Mine is a 4Runner, nor an Hilux Surf.

The only differences with yours are clear corners, 3.0TD engine and factory rear LSD.

I'll try to get the Aisin hubs used, but I need to find someone who accepts to send'em to Spain...

In 4-10 days I'll have my front Aussie Locker here from USA

Another question... I have a rear 4 pinion LSD diff. I can't fit an Aussie because they're only 2 pinion, but... Can I fit a Powertrax NoSlip in my diff?

Hello David.

I bought used IFS-Hilux 4x4 Aisin manual hubs for 100 € (including post costs, maybe I paid still too much). It was very easy to install and what I´ve heard, much stronger than Warns.

I think you have much Hiluxs there in Spain... in yankyard also.

Land Cruisers and solid-axle Hiluxs have different hubs (30-spline), you have to get 26-spline versions (shape of the bottom is a little bit different/deeper).
