What is this fluid?
I changed my plugs for the first time (not as painful as I was expecting) today on my 96 V6 Runner. When I took off the air system that goes over the passenger side plugs there was a dark brown/black fluid chillin in the air duct work. It looked like old oil.
It wasn't a ton. If I got every drip out I'd be about a 1/2 oz. But I thought it should be bone dry. My airfilter is brand new and well seated. I did the plate deck mod. All the hoses look to be in good shape, so there shouldn't be any sort of odd leaks. Any thoughts? Is my MAF screwed?
Any thoughts are welcome.

Sounds like a case of blow-by, caused by the PCV valve. You don't have to worry about it too much, its absolutely normal.
I had the same problem on my 93' 4runner, except there was way more oil in my intake track. Thats why I decided to make a catch-can, to catch all the vapourized-oil in the blow-by gases.
